Best Google Photos Alternative in India (2026): Store Unlimited Photos Without Google
In 2021, Google ended its free unlimited photo storage. Today, every photo you take eats into your 15GB Google account — shared across Gmail, Drive, and Photos. For most Indian smartphone users, that 15GB fills up within a year.
When it fills up, you face an uncomfortable choice: pay Google One ₹130–₹700/month, delete memories, or find an alternative.
This guide covers the best Google Photos alternatives in India for 2026 — evaluated on storage cost, automatic backup quality, privacy, and whether your data stays in India.
Why Indian Users Are Leaving Google Photos
- 15GB shared limit fills fast across Gmail + Drive + Photos
- No Indian servers — your photos are processed in US data centers
- Google scans your photos for ad targeting and content moderation
- INR pricing fluctuates with USD exchange rates
- Google One bundles features you don't need

QuixiCloud: The Indian Google Photos Alternative
QuixiCloud's Android app automatically backs up your camera roll over Wi-Fi in the background — exactly like Google Photos used to work for free.
What makes it different:
- 📍 Mumbai, Delhi, and Bangalore servers — your photos never leave India
- 🔒 End-to-end encrypted — QuixiCloud cannot see your photos
- 💰 ₹3,249/year for 2TB — that's 3× cheaper than Google One 2TB
- 🧾 GST invoice — available after our GST registration is complete
- 📂 WhatsApp backup — backs up your WhatsApp media folder automatically
- 🌐 Web access — view photos from any browser, anywhere
Android auto-backup is included in all annual plans. The Windows desktop app is free for all users.
How to Switch from Google Photos to QuixiCloud
- Download Google Takeout — export all your Google Photos as a ZIP archive
- Create a QuixiCloud account — free, 10GB, no credit card
- Upgrade to a yearly plan — 100GB from ₹649/year, 2TB from ₹3,249/year
- Install the Android app — enable auto-backup in settings
- Upload your Takeout archive — via the web uploader or Windows app
Your entire photo library migrates in one session. After that, every new photo backs up automatically.
What About WhatsApp Photo Backup?
Google Photos backs up WhatsApp media only if you configure it manually. QuixiCloud's Android app monitors your WhatsApp media folder and backs it up automatically along with your camera roll — no extra configuration required.
Privacy: Why It Matters for Your Photos
Google Photos' Terms of Service allow Google to use your photos to train AI models and improve products. Your family photos, your documents photographed on your phone, your private moments — all of that becomes training data.
QuixiCloud's zero-knowledge encryption means your photos are encrypted on your device before upload. QuixiCloud never has access to decrypt them. No AI training. No ad targeting.
Verdict
For Indian Android users who want automatic photo backup that is affordable, private, and stored in India — QuixiCloud is the strongest Google Photos alternative in 2026.
Start with 10GB free. No credit card required. Android auto-backup activates the moment you subscribe to any annual plan.
